ukraine.saxony.tech 2025 – Closer than we think 🇺🇦🇩🇪🤝🇪🇺⚙️ Only 574 kilometers lie between Ukraine and Germany — with Saxony as the closest German region. In technology and mindset, that distance feels even shorter.
ukraine.saxony.tech 2025 brought Ukrainian technology and industrial companies together with Saxon partners in a closed-door, industry-focused format. Over three days, Ukrainian founders and engineers from software, AI, hardware and microelectronics met more than 50 Saxon companies directly on factory floors, in workshops and selected events.
The exchange highlighted the strong fit between Ukrainian speed, prototyping capability and digital affinity and Saxon industrial depth, precision and scalability, pointing to concrete cooperation and investment opportunities despite the ongoing war. The program was initiated by Gigahertz Ventures and implemented jointly with the SAXONY!visit program of Saxony Trade & Invest.

Investment Announcement: HandsOn Robotics
Picture: HandsOn Robotics GmbH
Gigahertz Ventures is participating in the latest funding round of Dresden-based startup HandsOn Robotics , alongside TGFS – Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen , Superangels , and business angel Thomas Heimann.
HandsOn Robotics addresses a clear and pressing use case in the German market: persistent labor shortages in commercial kitchens, the high share of monotonous and physically demanding tasks, and rising requirements for hygiene and process reliability.
The company’s compact systems automate repetitive workflow steps—starting with cutlery sorting—and can be retrofitted into existing dishwashing lines without additional space.
The funding will support further product development, expanded pilot deployments, the start of serial production in mid-2026, and preparation for broader market rollout.

Investment News: Our Portfolio Company enaDyne Raises €7M Seed
Picture: enaDyne
More than 4,000 gigatons of excess CO₂ are already in our atmosphere – and the number is rising every day. Tackling this challenge is at the core of our portfolio company enaDyne GmbH, a German start-up developing fully electric, non-thermal plasma catalysis for sustainable chemical production.
enaDyne has now secured €7 million in seed funding, co-led by Amadeus APEX Technology Fund (a partnership between Amadeus Capital Partners and APEX Ventures ) and Energy Capital Ventures . Gigahertz Ventures has been invested in enaDyne since 2022.
Founded in 2021, the company combines expertise in plasma physics, catalysis, and engineering.
Its proprietary reactor technology converts CO₂ and other gases into valuable chemicals such as syngas, methanol, and ethylene, while also reducing persistent emissions like CF₄ and PFAS. Current results show CO₂ conversion rates above 70% in modular, containerised systems designed for scalable deployment.
The new capital will fund a 20-foot pilot plant by mid-2026, the first commercial product for plasma-based PFAS abatement, and a scalable production chain.
At Gigahertz Ventures, we are proud to support enaDyne as a portfolio company driving the transformation of CO₂ and pollutants from liabilities into resources.

Ukraimpulse (Gigahertz Ventures, BACB) Hosted Workshop on Angel Investments in Ukraine at "Innovations for Reconstructing Ukraine" Event in Berlin
Picture: Gigahertz Ventures / Ukraimpulse
During the workshop, a number of (anonymized) startup case-studies were discussed. Workshop participants tried to figure out, what specific risks and chances the war offers to different business models already today. Key findings included the following:
- The situation comes with a high pressure to innovate many areas and pragmatic prototyping becomes a necessity (e.g. defence, public services, education, infrastructure);
- Learnings of resilience and agility might become an unfair advantage in the long run, even in peaceful markets;Impact & infrastructure startups will most likely have good chances to raise significant public funding and investment from the international donor community;
- Some teams need to go global quickly, because their home market is slow/ ceased to exist - others have the potential of becoming market leaders in UA as they serve an immediate need, but lack potential to become leaders in global markets.
